Preliminary Lift-Planning Guide
Preliminary planning class only — a starting range for discussion, not a spec. Final lift capacity, cradle geometry, pilings, dock structure, water depth and vessel configuration require professional verification.
Published weight is not lift-design weight. Final capacity depends on fuel, water, batteries, options, gear, safety margin, bunks, cradle geometry, pilings, dock structure and water depth. Manufacturer weight terminology (dry weight, lightship displacement, light craft mass) is preserved and unchanged.

Estimates operating (wet) weight as published weight + fuel + water + batteries + gear, then applies a safety margin. Uses your inputs — nothing is sent anywhere.
Educational planning estimate only — not a lift-engineering approval.
No lift-capacity recommendations are published on this page. Professional verification is required for every Pursuit Boats lift decision.
Request a Dock-to-Deck ReviewDock, Lift & Aft Loading
Pursuit publishes weight against a specific engine configuration. Batteries, generator, outriggers, tower and tackle add real weight, and large outboards concentrate it aft. Cradle and bunk geometry plus transom loading matter as much as the total.
Twin, triple, and quad outboards concentrate real weight at the transom. Lift cradles must be geometry-matched — a same-capacity lift with the wrong bunks is not a fit.
Generator, second battery bank, hardtop upgrades, outriggers, upper station, tackle centers and electronics all push the boat away from published dry weight.
Manufacturer hardtop clearance is the baseline — added electronics, radar arches and towers can materially raise the highest fixed point.
Verify configuration before any lift decision. The number on the spec sheet applies to one specific engine configuration. We confirm engine count/hp, generator, outriggers, tower and electronics for the exact boat being considered.
| Model | Published engine config | Hardtop clearance | Aft-weight review |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pursuit S 288 | twin F300 | 7'9" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |
| Pursuit S 328 | Verification required | 8'2" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |
| Pursuit S 358 | Verification required | 8'9" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |
| Pursuit OS 325 | Verification required | 9'3" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |
| Pursuit OS 355 | Verification required | 9'9" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |
| Pursuit OS 405 | Verification required | 9'8" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |
| Pursuit OS 445 | Verification required | 11'0" to hardtop (options may increase) | Required |

Review My Dock & LiftCanal, Dock & Route Access
No single number decides fit. These are the property, waterway, and route factors we verify before you commit — none of them can be answered from a spec sheet alone.
Review my property and my Pursuit Boats. Michael and the Dock-to-Deck team confirm every one of these before recommending a boat or dock configuration.
Review My Property and Pursuit BoatsBridge Clearance & Air-Draft
Three concepts drive every real-world answer. We verify each for the exact year, configuration, and route before publishing an opinion.
Waterline to the highest fixed point — hardtop, radar, dome, antennas, flybridge, and any aftermarket gear. Aftermarket equipment often changes air draft materially.
Manufacturer clearance is stored per model, year, configuration, and measurement point — with source URL and verified date. One clearance does not apply across all years or configurations.
The lowest bridge on the actual route controls the decision — not the average, and not the tallest span. We map the specific waterway from your dock to the Gulf.
Tampa Bay context
Sunshine Skyway — ~175 ft
The Gulf gateway from central Tampa Bay; not a clearance concern for recreational yachts.
Courtney Campbell area — ~10 ft
Illustrative of low fixed bridges that can eliminate certain canal-to-Gulf routes for taller vessels. Confirm your exact route.
Scheduled bascule bridges
Opening schedules (on-demand, on-the-hour, restricted rush-hour windows) shape day-trip timing even when clearance isn't an issue.
No bridge-clearance guarantee is published on this page. We map your dock-to-Gulf route against the exact model, year, and equipment.

First-person notes from Michael Johnson, Licensed Florida Yacht Broker, on where each model actually shines for waterfront owners.
Pursuit S 328
“The strongest all-around Sport for Gulf Coast crossover use. Published dry weight is the twin-outboard config only — options and setup change the loaded number materially.”
— Michael Johnson, Licensed Florida Yacht Broker
Pursuit S 358
“The comfort step up. Aft-weight concentration and hardtop electronics move the real-world numbers past the sheet.”
— Michael Johnson, Licensed Florida Yacht Broker
Pursuit OS 325 / 355
“OS gets you offshore capability, but hardtop clearance and cradle geometry both step up. Plan air draft against the actual bridge on your route.”
— Michael Johnson, Licensed Florida Yacht Broker
Pursuit OS 405 / 445
“Effectively wet slip or custom lift conversations — don't shop them against a standard residential lift envelope.”
— Michael Johnson, Licensed Florida Yacht Broker

FAQs
Yes — the S series is built for that crossover, and the OS series pushes further offshore while retaining family usability.
Pursuit publishes weight against a specific engine configuration. Change the engine spec and the number changes — same for adding a generator, tower, outriggers or tackle.
The hardtop sets the baseline. Added electronics, radar arches, outriggers and upper stations can raise the highest fixed point — verify against every bridge on your route.
S 288 and S 328 are the most dock-friendly. OS models are typically custom lift or slip conversations.
We don't publish a fits-a-lift answer. Loaded planning weight puts the S 328 in a 20K conversation — cradle geometry and aft loading decide the final choice.
